That is sort of a lot to process and I cannot wait for Ari to Pop Up Video me through it with factoids and gagasymbolism. "That snow was also used in the Sound of Music" -Ari, probably.
DEFINITELY not as good as Telephone and not favorite by far. I want to know if anyone can tell me what she's trying to say here. While it is very interesting and compelling to watch, I want to know what she's trying to tell the world. Any help out there?
Like I said, Ari is RESIDENT AUTHORITY on things Gaga. But I remember reading somewhere (most likely on LateNews.com) that a lot of the video is about her lusting after her gay BFFLs and not being able to have them because of how gay BFFLs work.
Vogue, Like A Prayer, Justify My Love, Evita= Madonna. This video paid homage to all of these music videos (with Vogue and Like a Prayer being the most obvious imho)
Also, the most important question: Does Alejandro have his papers?
;)
I will have more for you, but I was gone for the day and only got to watch the video once...let the literary wheels turn...
Also, thank you for using Ace of Base as your example of a pop up video because as you know, Gaga said Alejandro's composition is based off of Ace of Base, and ABBA (which is why she used the name Fernando in the song, it is one of ABBA's biggest hits and is found on the Gold Album http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernando_(song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQsjAbZDx-4
I would agree that Alejandro is the weakest of the newer videos she's made, but "weak" from Gaga is still way more interesting that anything coming from Christina, Britney, Ke$ha, etc. these days.

It's almost like she's going out of her way to pander to a certain segment of the population in order to sell records and concert tickets to them!
She is like Larry the Cable Guy for the LGBTQommunity.

Gays in military outfits. Political Message there?
Hypersexuality in a nun's habit. Personal Message there?
Crosses and crucifixes EVERYWHERE (including her crotch). Religious Message there?
Featuring, at length, homoerotic images in a widely publicized music video. Social Statement there?
Jack, every Ace of Base song is the same...
the machine gun bra debuted in austin powers.
